Butch Walker and the Black Widows released their video for “Synthesizers” from The Spade today! It features Matthew McConaughey reprising his “Wooderson” character from Dazed and Confused, to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary.
The best part? 2:53 mark where Butch does the That’s Right! ::swoon::

Seriously… if you ever have the chance to see them live, DO IT. As great as their albums are, the LIVE experience is 100x more amazing. I’ve never seen an artist work an audience quite like Butch…
I grew up listening to a lot of music from the 1950s and 1960s. Tonight Mike and I, for some reason, started singing Lollipop to Benny, and it reminded me I had just found this old mix tape in the garage, that had Lollipop, as well as a lot of my other favorites.
I remember asking my mother (who made this mix tape) to play this in the car pretty much everywhere we went. My favorites were the last few songs on side A and pretty much all of side B.
We popped the tape in our stereo tonight and played Lollipop for Ben, and then Mike and I twisted together to Splish Splash – to which Ben got a silly smile on his face and yelled, “I don’t wanna see THAT!” Ha ha.

I’m a big fan of Avenged Sevenfold. I’ve seen them twice live and they’re just fantastic in person.
I think I’ve mentioned Shovels & Rope before, but I’m excited because they just released their new website and a new video for one of my favorite songs, Gasoline.
