This was one of those weekends where I got to feel way cooler than I actually am in real life. (Ha!) I don’t know how I’m so lucky to get opportunities like this, but I am certainly grateful …

My friend Erica’s uncle and grandparents run the Eerie Horror Fest and she’s been their official photographer for several years running. Normally her husband attends with her as her assistant, but this year he wasn’t able to accompany her, so she asked me to come along. I was pretty much giddy when she asked!

The main guests this year were Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and David Della Rocco from The Boondock Saints.
All three of the guys were incredibly friendly, funny and very down-to-earth.
I almost had a fangirl meltdown moment when Norman Reedus introduced himself to me in the green room. (*Squee!*) But I held it together and didn’t make an ass of myself, thankfully.
(By the way is anyone watching the new series he’s on — Walking Dead?! It’s amazing!)

Kevin Van Hentenryck from Basketcase (pictured on the far right above) was also SUPER friendly and great to chat with!
I also got to meet Brian O’Halloran (Dante from Clerks) and I had my picture taken with him (it’s on Erica’s camera and I haven’t gotten a copy yet). He teased me for being “too quiet”.

… Of course, that was because I was trying not to make an ass of myself in front of someone I’m a really big fan of! (You know how it is!)
The whole day was exhausting and fun. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to things like this, but the more celebrities I’ve had the opportunity to meet, the more I’ve realized that by and large, they’re really nice, normal people — and they like to be treated like normal people too. And that’s pretty dang cool.
