Mike and I went to Rockstar Uproar Fest this past Friday. This was our second year going to Uproar Fest and the lineup this year was amazing.
Avenged Sevenfold was the headliner, along with Three Days Grace, Seether, Bullet for my Valentine and Escape the Fate. There was also a second stage with several bands including Sevendust.
So we all know that Seether is my favorite band ever right? When we found out Seether was doing a CD signing, I about died. Mike and I were about the fifth in line to meet the band. They were all super nice. Dale Stewart (bass) signed first, followed by John Humphry (drums) and last Shaun Morgan.
Mike and I had the chance to talk to them a little and told them that we’d gotten engaged at their show in Cleveland last May. All three gave us the biggest smiles and they all congratulated us. (How cool is that?) I got to shake hands with Dale and Shaun too.
I managed to stay composed meeting each of them … until I walked away from the table. Then I let out a little girlie-shriek and said to Mike: “OMIGOD I JUST TOUCHED SHAUN MORGAN” and walked around for the rest of the day with the biggest smile on my face.
The show was great. We actually missed most of Escape the Fate’s set because we were watching Sevendust on the second stage, and they overlapped. Sevendust was well worth it though. I’m a fan of Bullet for my Valentine but Mike wasn’t, though he even admitted their set was better than he anticipated. Seether … well I just love them, obviously. Three Days Grace was actually a big disappointment for me. Avenged Sevenfold, however, was amazing. (Of course, they’re my second-favorite band, so I’m biased.)
A7X was even better than at last year’s Uproar, I think. I loved that they played a good mix of old and new songs. They even played A Little Piece of Heaven, which was a huge surprise and was totally my favorite song from their set! By that time of night it was really cold, so the pyrotechnics were also much-appreciated. (HA!)
I really don’t know how the Rockstar people are going to outdo themselves next year…
