Today is a good day for this, because my brain isn’t really firing on all cylinders anyway.

- I redesigned my “landing page” for all my sites (AmandaWeber.com). Not too exciting, I guess, but it’s shiny and purty.
- I think I’m finally becoming a Google Chrome convert. I never thought it would happen, ever. (‘Cause I loved Firefox so much.) But now the beta version with the extensions … love. And Google Chrome for Mac (which, unfortunately doesn’t have the beta/extensions version available yet)? OMG… blazing fast!
- Google also unveiled their Nexus One phone today. Looks pretty sexy. I like the looks of it better than the Droid. However, it’s going to be on TMobile’s network so… pfft. If I’m going to move away from Verizon, it’s going to be to AT&T for an iPhone (*lust*).
- If I could rig up a hamster cage that looked like this, I’d totally have pet hamsters again. (Hell, I’d like to be the hamster that gets to live in that swanky pad!)
- My buddy Matty got a new Leica S2 and posted a YouTube video of it being unboxed. He’s gotten featured on TechCrunch, Engadget and a bunch of other places. I have major geek-envy.
Here’s what the master bathroom looks like at the moment. What a MESS.

I really hate painting. A lot. (Hence why only the trim-work is done so far … does someone wanna come take over for me!?)
Just gotta bite the bullet and get it DONE.
The first thought in my mind when I woke up this morning was, “Thank God it’s 2010.” I don’t know why that was my first thought … but it was. And I’m happy. It’s also a beautiful, sunny day. Couldn’t ask for a better start to the new year.
I decided to observe one New Year’s tradition this year …

Pork roast and sauerkraut is a Pennsylvania Dutch (German) tradition for New Year’s day. It’s supposed to bring good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. The sauerkraut/cabbage is representative of money and is combined with pork because pigs always root ahead (moving forward, making progress).
My mother has always cooked pork and sauerkraut for New Year’s day. I’ve never been a fan of the sauerkraut itself. The texture of cooked cabbage just … ick. But the flavor of the pork cooked in the sauerkraut juices?! YUM!!
… Plus, I figure I can use all the good luck I can get for 2010. We all could.
What are your New Year’s traditions?
